Your chance at a unique machine. This unit I bought personally to turn into a camper but sadly time constraints just aren’t going to allow. This is a military personnel carrier that was imported from UK and never really used. You need to google this unit to truly learn what it is capable of doing off road.
Google says:
The Pinzgauer 716 is fundamentally built for extreme off-road endurance. Key technical highlights include:
- Chassis: A Tatra-inspired backbone/central tube frame that protects the drive shaft and provides incredible torsional rigidity.
- Suspension & Drivetrain: Fully independent suspension with swinging half-axles (providing 30 cm of wheel travel) and portal axles for massive ground clearance (approx 36 cm).
- Brakes: Unlike earlier petrol models, the 716 features disc brakes on all four wheels.
While the first-generation vehicles used air-cooled, in-line four-cylinder petrol engines, the 716 was upgraded for improved range and torque:
- Engine: 2.4-liter (sometimes 2.5L) Volkswagen inline-6 turbo-diesel engine.
- Power Output: Ranges from 65 kW (87 hp) to 80 kW (108 hp), depending on the exact intercooler and spec setup.
- Transmission: Typically paired with a 5-speed ZF manual
- Payload: Carries up to 2.5 tonnes and can seat between 8 to 12 people in person-carrier (M) versions.
